Saman Malik is a journalist, producer and visual storyteller currently based in Toronto.
She started her career at Hum TV Network in Karachi, Pakistan. As a freelance journalist she has worked for CBC The Fifth Estate, CBC Marketplace, The New York Times, VICE, HBO Documentaries, The Village Voice, Women in the World Summit and Voice of America.
Saman holds a Master's degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. Her first film The Cost of Living was awarded the Patsy Pulitzer Preston Prize and The Gracie Award for Outstanding Documentary.
